Jodi is a Registered Social Worker with over 17 years of experience. Her approach is to work collaboratively with individuals, couples and families on challenging psychosocial and emotional issues. Jodi has extensive experience with diverse populations in a variety of settings including: child welfare, social assistance, housing, health and community care, crisis, mental health and addictions, youth outreach and anger management groups.
Jodi currently provides counselling for: stress/coping, managing change/life transitions, interpersonal and work related issues, anxiety/depression, grief/bereavement, addiction/mental health, chronic/acute illnesses, dementia, long-term care planning, caregiver stress and fertility issues.
Some areas of training include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Working with Families and Children, Fertility Counselling, Graduate Certificate in Dementia Studies, Narrative and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Interprofessional Collaboration Certificate, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
Through personal experience with fertility issues Jodi has become passionate about fertility counselling. Counselling and support from a social worker/therapist, can play a vital role in an often stressful journey for individuals and couples. Jodi strives to provide the support, skills and the tools needed.
